Claus Poulsen is a versatile visual artist and musician, who has been active in the creative scene since his teenage years. In 1995, he co-founded the ensemble Alarm112, a project that explored the boundaries of noise, casualism, improvisation, multimedia, performance, publishing, theatre and installation. Alarm112 performed in renowned venues such as DR’s Concert Hall Studio 2, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde, and Roskilde festival, among others. They also staged a 24-hour internet-transmitted concert in 1998 and showcased the video work Soundmobiles at the 2000 spring exhibition at Charlottenborg.
In 2006, CP was introduced to the technique of chemical manipulation of colour slides by the czech artist Martin Klapper. CP has since dedicated his visual artistic practice to refining and expanding these methods, transforming ordinary photographic materials into striking works of art.
After 2010, CP turned his artistic focus to touring on the European noise and experimental music scene and releasing albums through independent labels, often using his visual works as album covers.
In November 2024, CP presented his debut solo exhibition "En verden i opløsning" (A world dissolving), where his chemical manipulation of slides were the central focus, showcasing the unique visual language he has developed over the years.
His artistic practice continues to evolve, exploring new methods and mediums, while maintaining a strong foundation in the conceptual and experimental.
