Overfladespænding exhibition at Prospekt
"Surface tension" - an exhibition by Tine Saxild and Claus Poulsen, presenting painting, photo art and collaborative video work and a live set. Vernissage on wednesday 20. August 5-8 PM at gallery Prospekt, Eriksgade 15.
"Surface tension" - an exhibition about the meeting between inner and outer worlds, sensitivity, immersion and humor in the field of tension between us.
Claus Poulsen presents a series of chemically processed slides under the title "A world in dissolution". The process has been developed and explored over 20 years with early inspiration in the Czech photographic avantgarde. Intuition and coincidences play an active role while the emulsion is dissolving - and what remains emerges with new meaning.
Tine Saxild presents works from the series Helping Spirits. She explores inner and outer worlds of experience through dreams, myths, legends and imagination. She works in an improvisational and cross-media field of painting and text where the helping spirits emerge as open figures - traces and connections between nature and existence - in a visual language she herself calls her "parallel language".
They are both multi-artists who have collaborated on music, video and live performance since 2021. Their music ranges from pop and noise to ambient and punk. They have produced three videos (shown in the exhibition) and an EP, all marked by strong elements of surrealism and sensuality. Their creative method is free improvisation, sensitivity and imagination – an approach that is also reflected in their visual art. Surface Tension is an exhibition about encounters – between the technical and the sensual, the controlled and the spontaneous – and about the artistic potential that arises when two worlds meet.
